Rhonda Dee
From April 2025

ABOUT THE EXHIBIT

Rhonda Dee’s work is concerned with transformation, hybridity and psychology. Drawing from folktales, migrant stories and sci-fi themes, she re-imagines the human/animal/plant story as a non-linear transformational journey. Fluid paint flows suggest a variety of possibilities within each image and the possibility of freely associating between image and meaning as figures simultaneously both emerge and recede. The works are comprised of multiple layers of acrylic on archival polymer films (traditionally used in cartography; map making) charting the movement between one identity and another.
